These were our tour guides, Lieutenant Kahle and his kiddos, Maddison and Ryan... The kids were awesome, they knew so much about the lighthouse, it was so cute.... and they LOVE the wind.
This is the view from the top rail, which it was SOOOO windy, Maddison and Ryan were doing their hurricane walk.
This is the actual light itself, before we went up to that level, LT Kahle warned us that the light was high voltage and not to touch it, but we could touch the cage around it if we wanted.
I think that if we would have taken the tour during touring hours it wouldn't have been so awesome because the last little door that went up to where the light was and to get out on the rail was locked, but he had a key, so that was cool. The property was owned by the Coast Guard for the last 200 years or so up until the last 2 years, but of course they still own the light itself, so LT Kahle took us to see it even though the museum host lady doesn't like it. I liked his view of the situation. =)
