Road (sidewalk) Rash

Poor little Miss Emilee.  Not really...  it looks a lot worse in the pictures. =) She was bending down trying to pick a stick up while also trying to look through her legs... then she lost her balance and hit her head on the sidewalk.

I think it hurt Granny more than it hurt Emilee. But I'm sure it's the first of many.

Can't you tell she's really letting it bother her mood

AND...  for the last two days.... she has been reacting to something that she is eating. We haven't figured out what it is because it happened all of a sudden yesterday. So now we'll be watching what she eats. This is something new. You can see the redness around her mouth

She loves the dirt

I just thought this one was funny.

Fire hydrant

She's as tall as a fire hydrant. =)

Loves water
anytime after it rains, I swear she knows which toys hold water.  These cars have good holes for holding water.  She always looks at us to see if it's ok to play in it.. it's so cute.

Marshmallow

This is one HUGE marshmallow...  it came from Wyoming. haha!  Emilee enjoyed it.

Then she decided to feed it to Renee

This one was funny because she's about to fall off of the chair because she is shoving it in Renee's mouth.

Thank you Renee and Aunt Barbara for the pictures.

TCH appt

Emilee had an appt with the Genetics Dept today at TCH.  It went well. She was 20.3 lbs and 28 1/2 ins. They are still wanting to investigate the possibility of Stickler's Syndrome since it is so closely related to Piere Robin so she had to have her blood drawn again today. (The wait at the lab was much shorter than last time).  The two test that they ran about six months ago came back normal, but this is a different one.  She only cried for about ten seconds and then was fine. She just kept looking down at her bandage.  We are also needing to schedule appts with TCH's opthamololgy and audiology departments so those are soon to come.

We were barely out of the parking garage before she was out.

Once we were back in Conroe we ate lunch with Granny Katie and Taylor. Then came home for some play time and an afternoon nap (me included).  I had to take this next picture... she was sleeping so hard in one spot that she had the indention of her opposite toes on her leg. It's the red spot.  You may be able to click on the picture to make it bigger.  This just shows how happy she is after a nap.  This picture was taken only minutes after she woke up.  Just long enough for me to get her up and bring her downstairs. I love it!

AND... Happy Birthday Julie!

Weekend

We made a trip to the fire station on Saturday to see Daddy.  These aren't the greatest pics becuase of the sun and a bouncing little one but they are cute.

She's driving the Ladder Truck

I love her expression in this next one.

As for Sunday... Emilee and I headed to Channelview for a birthday/baby shower on Sunday and of course to just to visit.  We had a blast, but I didn't take any pictures..  I was too busy chasing her away from the pool.  But thanks to Lynette and Matt she got to swim a little. I took her prepared but not myself. =)

2 years

I can't believe it's been two years. Although it seems like it's been a lot longer than that. I miss him dearly and I miss the fact that Emilee will not get to know or even meet her Papa. But you can bet I'll be sure to tell her about him every chance I get. And when she says "what's that?" and I reply "a rutter for a duck's butt" and she says "for what?" and I say "so he can steer when he paddles" He will always cross my mind and I will smile. =)  He was an all around awesome person who did more for others than could ever be measured. He loved and provided for my mom, me and my brothers... all of which have grown up to be loving, caring people. He couldn't have done a better job. Thanks Mom and Dad!  We miss you!

Lake Somerville

We headed out to Lake Somerville, Birch Creek Unit State Park over the weekend. It was HOT, but we still had a good time. Check out the rest of the pictures from our trip over at Three Generation Camping.

She looks so BIG in shorts and a tank top.

Blanket and cup

These are the only picture from today.  She loves her blanket.  If she sees it she wants to hold it and drag it around with her so I have started putting t out of sight during the day. But it's still cute.

She likes to drink from her cup when it's upside down.

Teddy Bear Appt

Emilee's Teddy Bear Appt (follow up with the neonatologist from the NICU) was this afternon.  Granny Katie, Taylor and Emilee met me at work and then we ate lunch at Chick-fil-a before heading to the hospital for the appt.  She gets all her measurments done and she also gets an OT eval (motor skills & development) and ST eval (speech therapy). First her measurements.  She was still 29 ins long but she only weighed 19 lbs 4.4 oz.  So for now no big girl carseat. I think she really weighs the same or a little more than she did at her one year well check... because at the pedi's office she stays in her diaper for the weight, but today she was completely without clothing. But that's ok. After all that we got to see Dr. McGowan who is just so much fun and just the way he treats the kiddos it's obvious that he just LOVES babies. So things went well. She is of course a little delayed in her speech so they want to see her again at 18 months. So our next appt with them is the end of February.

Other than that we spent most of the afternoon playing outside in the 100 degree weather. Needless to say it was spent in a diaper with some type of activity involving water. Whether it was in her pool, water in a bucket being carried around and acciently dumped or a water bottle that she was "drinking" out of that got dumped onto the porch and then splashed in. Anyway it came - it was at least good for a slight cool down in this Texas heat.

I noticed this huge bloom on Emilee's Hibiscus plant

Dia de diaper two

Sunday for Emilee was also spent in nothing but a diaper.

This picture cracks me up becuase her arms make it look like she 'fake' running.

All of the above pictures are thanks to Taylor.  Emilee just loves playing with her.

She's not going to fit in the Lego box much longer.
