Videos

A few videos from the last couple of weeks. Since I've been slacking on my blogging.  I blame it on my Kindle. That thing is more addicting than a good paperback. =)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is what I get when I ask her to say 'cheese'

 We headed out to go fishing this evening.  She insisted on carrying her pole and the worms

Knew exactly where she was going

About two days ago she discovered the moon.  Now she looks for it when the sun starts to go down.

We've had some nice sunsets lately.

Happy Birthday Gage

Congrats to Josh, Ashley and Sam - They welcomed the newest member to their family

Gage Douglas
2/8/2011 @ 18:34
9 lbs 8 oz - 21 3/4 in

Emilee wasn't real sure what to think about it all.  She was kinda in the back but just trying to look around everyone to figure out what the fuss was all about and what was making the noise that she could hear.

She kept pointing at him and saying "baby"

Once the chocolate was discovered, the girls completely forgot about the new baby

Ducks, Dirt & Ditchin'

You just have to love our weather... I guess (even though we didn't get our promised snow). One day we are bundled up here for the ice day on Friday and then on Sunday we are hanging out in the sunshine and 70 degree weather. =) I MUCH prefer the 70 degree weather.

* Ducks *

Emilee, Granny Katie and Mommy headed out to Jack-in-the-Box for lunch and to feed the ducks.

She had NO clue that they were following us. Maybe it was the french fry that she had in her hand

Although she understands the concept of tearing a piece off and then throwing it, sometimes she only does one piece and then throws the rest of the square in at once...  but we'll get it.

* Dirt *

Of course - any little bit of nice weather and she heads to the dirt pile (and INSISTS on me also sitting in the sand pile digging, thus the angle of the picture)

As a bribe to get me out of the sand pile we let Emilee fill the bird feeders up

* Ditchin' *
(the afternoon nap)

Since Emilee decided that she wasn't going to take an afternoon nap she got to hang out in her t-shirt/sleep shirt

Thanks to Micky Mouse Clubhouse, she has started liking Mickey. So while at wal-mart today we found her a Mickey. At first she chose Minney but then we had to re-visit Mickey and she chose Mickey for her final decision. =)

Yes... I let her outside like this...  actually Granny did, but it was this or she was crying inside because of NO nap

First French Braid

After breakfast at Granny's house today we had a braiding party.

- Jillian's - because it needed to be out of her face
- Taylor's - because she wanted me to
- Emilee's - because I wanted to see if I could.

Surprisingly --- Emilee sat still long enough for me to make an attempt at it. Her hair is so fine of course made is a little harder not to mention the wiggling. But I managed to get a tiny one in.  It was fun!

The three girls with their braids. I tried to Granny to let me braid hers, but she got away without it. =)

I even asked Tucker if I could braid his (not that I could), but he quickly answered with a big "no". But did agree to a picture with his sisters.

Sleetman

So since we only got freezing rain/sleet we were determined to make a snowman sleetman.

We had to find every flat surface and scrap up the ice.

Our wagon of ice/sleet (whatever you would like to call it)

Our snowman sleetman
because it wasn't 'snow' it wouldn't stick together so we had to make a tiny one. We even had a nose and mouth, but it would go in the iceball, so we just settled for eyes and a drawn on mouth. It was the best we could do with what we had. =)

Ice Day

This past week we were really looking forward to the possible 1 - 4 inches of snow that we were suppose to get.  We should have known better. All we got was ice and a little bit of freezing rain/sleet.

Emilee bundled up in Kevin's snow suit. It's a 12 month size... Kevin is a few weeks shy of 16 yrs old. So this was probably bought the winter of 1995. Haha! But it served it's purpose because underneath she is still in her fleece sleeper. =) She's trying to figure out what is hitting her head, it was the sleet.

Saying "Cheese"

She did well as long as she didn't fall down. And because is rained during the night and then we had the sleet... the yard was SLICK.

I like how you can see the snow ice on the bottom of her boots.

Poor Baby

Emilee didn't feel good. Falling asleep like this NEVER happens. I got a call at work from Daddy who said that he was fixing her lunch and she got real quite. Anytime we are in the kitchen, she sticks her head out over the arm of the chair and she can see us, so I'm guessing she was watching him and then just passed out. He said that she slept for about 30 minutes. Poor thing. She hadn't slept well the night before and was running a little fever and pulling at her ears, so off to the doctor we went. We had JUST been at the pediatrician's office four days earlier for her well child visit... guess she didn't stay 'well' long.  After a look in her ears, one seemed to be a little red so we went ahead and got antibiotics and headed home.  Of course she didn't act like anything was wrong with her while we were there but that's ok. If that's what it takes (just taking her in their office) to get her feeling better.... I'll take it. =)
