Back in Houston

Emilee did really well on the flight(s) home. She made it through the first one and then was asleep before the second one took off.  We actually had our carseat checked on the way home for airplane requirements. It specifically states that it meets the requirements for use on an aircraft. We had no idea that would even be an issue, considering it was only looked at before number three of our four flights. But at least we know.

The joke of the day was we evacuated to Texas from Hurricane Irene. We left early Friday morning.... just in time. Thankfully there was only some damage to a fallen tree to Laura and Norbie's back yard.

Pulling her own weight when claiming out bags.

Waiting patiently for Granny to pick us up. We got a couple of cute little snickers from people around us because she pulled her own bag to the curb and waited. It was pretty funny.

Headed home

Thank you Norbie and Laura for letting us stay with you guys for the week.  One group picture before we go.

MCAS Helicopters

Norbie took us over to the base to show us the helicopters that he works on. He actually teaches others to work on the electronic systems of the CH-53. These are housed in a huge building so that they can be broken down for teaching purposes, but they are still HUGE.

Bowling

Bowling at Camp Lejune Marine Base

They had this cook dinosaur ramp for the little ones to use (so that their ball makes it all the way)

Can we all say "Prissy"

Emilee had enough about a half way through the game and wouldn't stay close so we had to improvise

Ethan took a little nap while his Daddy took his turn

Giving Ethan kisses

of course.. pushing buttons

a little deer hunting before we headed home

Topsail Beach, NC

We headed to the beach...  Only to arrive and it start to rain (Maybe because there's a hurrincane coming). HAHA!  We did see a funnel cloud out over the water on our way to the condo.

We waited out the rain for about 20 minutes

Then headed down to play in the water for a few minutes. The water was kinda rough so we didn't stay to long but it was long enough for the kids to get completely wet and sandy.

Not sure what was going here but it was funny.

Battleship North Carolina

Site Seeing..  to the Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington, NC

This picture they take for you and you can buy. We did because it turned out cute. We aren't sure what's going on with our skin but it's still good.

Drelan takining out the Enemy.

Our little monkey.

of course once we got inside she wanted to climb the ladders on her own.

this was actually quite amusing because when she would lean forward to get a drink she would push on the button and it would hit her in the eyebrows. But she would eventually get a drink. There wasn't any A/C on the ship but they did have air pumped in so it was REALLY hot. But the kiddos were troopers and had fun.
