Wings Over Houston

Chance and I went to the airshow at Ellington Field on Sunday, so these pictures are a little late. We had fun even though it was a little warm sitting on the concrete all day. We actually bought the seats and were almost sitting at "show center" so we got to see a lot. Our favorite parts of the show were the helicopters and of course the fighter jets. They also did a re-inactment of Pearl Harbor and Veitnam which was kinda neat. They had pyrotechinc that made if seem like the places were really firing missles and there people dressed up and firing guns. It was really neat. Here are a few pictures and I'll post a link at the bottom later for more pictures if you want to see them.

And of course, the whole reason that I wanted to go was for the Thunderbirds. Chance and I got to see the Blue Angels last year in Corpus and now we got to see the Thunderbirds. If you have ever been to an airshow with fighter jets, it's really hard to take pictures of them... you're looking into the sun and by the time you find them in your camera viewer to zoom in on them and let your camera do it's auto focus ~ they are GONE. I did get a few good ones. Of couse the tallest guy at the show had the seat in front of me which I had to ask to please sit down. There are signs that state please remain seated, but I guess they just ignore it.

Headed to Ellington Field Tomorrow

We are headed to the "Wings Over Houston" airshow tomorrow. Just happens to be that Matt and Renee are taking their kids too. Tucker got to go today, so I'll have to ask Granny Bonnie for any pictures that she took of Tucker to post. Hopefully I'll have some cool pictures of the Thunderbirds to put on here Monday. So check back to see.

Full Day

Lots of things went on today. Chance spent his day working at 31's. Mom and I went to Cooper soccer game, came home and re-potted most of the plants from Dad's funeral and then spent a couple of hours trying to take some Christmas pictures for Matt and Renee. Cooper had the whole 'cheese' smile down, but Carson wouldn't smile for us for anything. He was a tough crowd, it took mom throwing rocks into the water, getting me wet just to get him to smile. Hopefully I got at least one good one out of the whole 300+ pictures that I took. Here are a few picture from today.

Just US!!

Sunday morning we had breakfast with Chance's parents, then went to Cut-N-Shoot. On our way home we stopped at Candy Cane park for a birthday party and then Doug and Terri came to our house for the rest of the afternoon. While at the park, I got Terri to tak a couple of pictures.

Pumpkin Patch

Dave and Ashley took their kids to a pumpkin patch in Conroe on Saturday. It was geared mainly towards the smaller children, but they all had fun. At least we got one good picture of all four of them together.

Cooper's Soccer Game

Cooper is playing soccer at the YMCA in Conroe. He had his first game on Saturday. It was entertaining to watch a bunch of four year olds run around when very few of them actually knew what was going on. Mom and I went to the game. It was cute.

She's already making us laugh

I went to peak in on the puppies before we came home from my mom's house and this is what I found. They were both sleeping very peacefully, but were so cute, I had to take a picture.

Texas Sunsets...

For some reason I love sunsets! Maybe it's just because they are so beautiful. These two pictures I took off of 105 on my way to the station on Tueday evening. I'm glad to be back in Texas. I love California... it's so pretty (at least the parts that I've been visiting lately) but I'm glad to be home. Chance, Darrell and Dave have headed down into the pasture to see what they can get in trouble doing. We are back to our normal lives of work and more work. I think that I have my mom convinced to drive back to Cali with Darrell and I. We would have so much fun. We'll see if she still goes as the dates get closer.

Back in Montgomery

Darrell and I made it to Montgomery about 11:00 today. We were glad to be out of the truck and able to walk around without having to get right back in. Aunt Barbara is making Chicken Fried Steak for dinner tonight so we are all looking forward to that. We had lots of fun but we are also glad that it's over. We added up all the miles that we traveled and it was a total of 2138. It was a long trip, but Darrell will be here for almost three weeks. Thank you Beth for letting me stay at y'all house and for letting Darrell come home.

Blue Bell Ice Cream anyone...

We just left Brenham.... Headed to Navastoa and then to the big town of Montgomery!

On the home stretch

We are headed out of San Antonio this morning. It rained overnight and it a little drizzly right now, but that's not stopping us. Since we are in a city on a Monday morning, hopefully the traffic won't be too bad. We should be home by noon. =)The sun isn't showing yet, so here's a picture of the rocks that Darrell took yesterday.

Sunset on Day Two

We have stopped in San Antonio for the night. We are going to sleep for an extra hour in the morning and head out around 7. We should be in Montgomery no later than noon. Hope everyone had a great weekend. See you soon.

The first one is the sunset through the back window of Darrell's truck and the second one is the view from the mirror on the passenger side. Since we are headed east, the sunset was difficult to take a picture of.

Thru the Mountains

At one point today I was talking to Chance on the phone and told him that I might lose my signal because we were going THRU the mountains. Just a couple of pictures to prove that. =) He asked what kinda of magical car we were driving that was going through the mountains... nothing magical, that's just where they happened to put the road. =)

Experimenting with the blogger

We have a couple of videos of Hayden! One of him crawling and one of him in his walker. I'm going to try and post them and see if they work... Let's try it. I think that they are going to work, but I'm not going to leave them up for too long because the file size is so large... I hope everyone enjoys them!

We got a good laugh

Back when we were still in California, I posted saying that we were in Bakersfield. Well, we are in Bakersfield... Texas this time. It's about 6:00 (Texas Time) and we are about 300 miles west of San Antonio. It's really overcast and trying to sprinkle some rain on us but seems to be holding off for now.

Flag picture...

Just thought that it looked neat with the mountains in the distance!

We made it to Texas!

We are traveling East on I10 through Texas!! Yay! We plan on making it into San Antonio and staying the night tonight and then having a short drive home in the morning.

We knew that we were getting close to Texas when we could smell something kinda like cow poop, that's because it was cow poop. These were just before we hit the Texas border at a dairy farm.

Once we got into Texas we took exit #0 and there just happened to be a Taco Bell, so we took a little lunch break and ate in to stretch our legs. I can stretch mine in the truck, but Darrell's are a little longer. Then into El Paso. As you know El Paso is really really close to the border... so close that while I was driving Darrell snapped these couple of pictures.... That's too close for me.

That's Mexico....

Part of the reason that we seem to be making good time is because ever since we were on the east side of El Paso, the speed limit has been 80 mph. Darrell took this picture so no one could argue with us. =)

This one just looked kinda neat because we were topping a hill and with the mountain directly in front of us you couldn't see which way the road went.
