Teddy Bear and ECI

Emilee had her Teddy Bear appointment yesterday at the hospital. Everything went well. She had an OT evaluation before seeing Dr. McGowan. She passed everything with flying colors. She doesn't have to go back there until she is a year old!

We also had an appointment with our case worker for ECI. We were running a litte behind because of the Teddy Bear appointment so when I called her, she was going to be at the house before us. She said that she would stop at Sonic for a bite to eat and give us a little more time and of course we were going to run by there for a drink, so we just met her at Sonic for our appointment. Emilee was out cold in the car so we sat at the outside tables and talked and let Emilee sleep. It worked out perfect.

I also feel bad to post with out a picture, so I thought I would include one!

The Army Crawl

Little Miss Thing is getting better and better each day at getting where she wants to go. She can move quite quickly with her little army crawl. It's usually in the direction of a dog toy, but she's getting good.

It's only a matter of time before the chaos begins.

Toofies

So... Emilee has been working on not one tooth, but a second one is coming is also.  I noticed the second bottom tooth coming in on Thursday when she was getting her blood drawn.  Her whole face turned red because she was so mad except where her new teeth are.  That area stayed white.  AND since I was so close to her face while she was screaming I was able to see it really well.

You can see her first tooth in the picture below.  It kind of looks like a reflection... BUT IT'S NOT.. IT'S HER FIRST TOOTH! (You should be able to click on the picture to make it bigger if you can't see it) It's been so hard to get a picture of it because she loves to stick her tongue out, so everytime we play with her out come the tongue and covers up the tooth. But that's ok.  We waited so long for her to be able to stick her tongue out that if she want's to stick it out at everyone we will gladly let her.

P.S. If you are a frequent viewer...  I posted a bunch of new ones, so you might have to go back and start with the one titled Tee's Visit. I had to play catch up.  I will try and do better.

Yummy Yummy..

While we were out grocery shopping on Sunday we bought Emilee something new to try. It's one of those 'biter biscuits'.  She seemed to really like it. Of course it was everywhere, but it was fun to watch her try something new.

She thinks she's big stuff

Saturday Chance needed a hair cut, so we headed to see Aunt Ashley.  We waited in the parking lot for a little while and then after his hair cut we all ate lunch at Taco Bueno. It was Muy Bueno. =)

Six Months Well Check

We saw Dr. Robinson for Emilee's six month well check this afternoon.  The appointment went fairly well.  Emilee was asleep when we got there so she decided to be cranky for the whole appointment.  I figured she would be cranky after her shots so I wasn't too worried about it.  Dr. Robinson is very please with her weight gain over the last two months, she weighed 14 lbs, 15.5 oz.  I told her she should have peed in her diaper on the way to the scale and she would have been 15 pounds. =) Since she is gaining weight nicely, he has dropped her formula down to 20 calories (regular formula) so we are excited about that. She has grown on her length also to just over two feet tall. =)  She's 25 1/2 inches.  She is following her growth curves very nicely. She got four shots and the oral immunization and even got a little stuffed animal for being so good. We enjoyed seeing Mrs. Bette while we were there to.  Even if she did forget to give her the flu shot and we had to go back in.  =)  That's ok though.

She can sit quite nicely in a high chair.  We went to Seven Leguas for lunch before her appointment.

As you can tell, she is real bothered by the band-aids on her legs. (She loves the remote control)

I had to get a picture of her pink camo band-aids on both legs before bed time.

Genetic Appt

Emilee had her first Genetics appointment today.  We did really well on the timing for this one so we didn't have long to wait. The appointment lasted right at two hours.  It was mostly just a 'talking' appointment.  They did a family tree on us from our grandparents to our nieces and nephews.  Chance got the easy way out on this one.  I had seven to remember the ages of and he just had Sam. =)  Really the only thing that he noted was that Emilee has a "prominent bridge" which he measured or tried to. Between Emilee wiggling around and his shaky hands I'm sure that measurement was accurate.  Even the Doc joked about it. Which that's just the first Doc...  he's kind of the nurse type person at these appointments.  So he goes out and says that he's going to discuss everything with Dr. Scaglia (who the appointment is actually with) and then they will be back.  They came back with one more.  It's just how things work at TCH, so we are use to that. The hardest part of the appointment was entertaining her for that long.

Along with the Pierre Robin alot of times there is what's called Stickler's Syndrome.  This is what Emilee is being tested for.  So after the appointment we went down to the lab and waited again.  Of course she fell asleep only to be woken up for a stick.  Poor baby!  She really doesn't mind the sticking part it's the being held down part that makes her mad. So she does quite well. Those lab results will take somewhere between two and four weeks to get the results. So we wait. Other than that they said she 'looks normal' which isn't something they get to say very often in that department. =) She does look 'normal'...  she is completely normal and so much fun, but she's beginning to be a stinker. =)

She loves exam table paper.

Tee's Visit

Grammy Tee came to visit today.  She spent the afternoon with Emilee and Chance.

She decided to take a nap on her puppy dog.

Emilee has been sleeping on both her back and stomach lately.  When I get up to check on her there's no telling how she will be laying.

Emilee in Motion

Just a quick video clip of Emilee sitting on her own.

Sitting Pretty

Emilee has learned to sit on her own. She can't hold it for a really long period of time but she's getting good at it.  She can sit for a little while (at least long enough for me to take some pictures).

Yesterday was our monthly session with OT for her feeding. She says that she seems so much more interested in eating and has made a great inprovement.  Her OT also loved her new blanket. =) She says that it's great stimulation for her brain. YAY since that's why we made it. =)

Here are a few pictures from last night.

P.S. She is still working on getting that litte tooth all the way in.  It's visible all the time now, just not photo-able yet.  As soon as it makes it's GRAND apperance you can be sure that I'll try and get a good picture to post.

On all fours

She just thinks that she is so big.  She has gotten to where she gets up on her knees all the time now. These pictures are over the last couple of days.

She has been making it really hard change her diaper or clothes because she likes to roll over in the middle of it. In this picture I think that she was trying to climb off of the changing table.

Sewing 101

We have been working on Emilee a new playmat/blanket thing.  I have been working on embroidering the blocks a few at a time and finally finished them all yesterday.  So Granny Katie  sewed it all together and then we had a group effort for the tacking part. We should have it finished by tonight for her to play on. 'They' say that black, white and red  are good for baby brains.  Not sure how much truth there is to that, but we made a pretty neat playmat anyways and later on she can learn to match the shapes.

Emilee helping Granny sew

Emilee checking out her new playmat, she kept trying to grap the images. I think we lost a sock playing in the exersaucer

Chance cooked Chili last night and then we had a tacking party. We had to use pliers to pull the needles through, it was quite funny.

I only got to tack one corner and then had to go fight Miss Emilee (who has decided the last four or five nights that she doesn't want to go to sleep at night).  So we are were rocking in the living room so Dad was filling in.

He even wanted to help make a burp cloth

TCH Feeding Evaluation

Emilee had a feeding evaluation at Texas Children's EARLY yesterday morning. Thankfully they saw us not long after we got there because I thought the appointment was at 8:30, so we got there at about 7:30 and then find out that it's not until 9:00... so we were there for the wait. We got in sooner and were leaving the floor by 8:30.  The lady that we saw was super nice and enjoyed playing with Emilee.  We discussed the issues that we are having when trying to feed her with a spoon because of her PRS. This appointment was scheduled a month ago so she's doing a little better, but we still wanted an opinion from someone who deals with it daily. Basically she just told us to keep offering the food to her.  She did say that we already had a lot of information ourselves, which is good from the start. She was probably thinking that I was trying to hard. Not really.  =)  I laughed at the thought of sippee cups...  she said that we could buy any brand that we wanted just remove the valve.  HA!! She did mention that we might want to only give her a cup like this when she's in a high chair.. I agree completely. =) But other than that.  I didn't want to post with out a few pictures. So I took some of her last night while she was playing with Taylor. I just love how expressive she is with her face. It makes me wonder what she is thinking all the time. She can go from smiling to crying in 0.002 seconds.  It's funny.  Sometimes you can't tell what she wants to do because it's a little of both.  Cracks me up.

OH...  and she's getting a tooth.  It's trying really hard to completely break through and pop up, but you can feel it every day and it's more prominent in the evenings. =)

Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Year's everyone!

She was way to focused on the sparklers to even get her to look away.
