Sliding

Yesterday evening, Emilee learned that she could slide on her own. She thinks she is just SO big now.

Watering flowers

Helping Granny water flowers. Only a VERY small amount of water actually made it onto the flowers. We she was done...  she was soaked. It didn't take her long to start pouring it on herself. She would pour it out and hollar for more. Even begin to throw a fit if Granny didn't refill her pale fast enough.

*If you're able to click on the picture to make it larger... please do.  I love her expression.

My Sonic Baby

Although it's not really Sonic that she has come to love, it's the straw.. which I just LOVE!  It brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart to see her drink from a straw. It's not something that I can describe just something that I know other PRS mommies know. It's a small hint of the things that were different for the first year of my baby's life. It was once said to me "I don't know how you do it, I wouldn't be able to"... but the way we HAD to do things was the only way that we knew how to do them. It was our norm. Each day I am thankful of the extreme mildness of Emilee's PRS. Moments like the one below are cherished in a different way.

Granny has her in panties already.

Things she likes

Computers (she's learning way to early) and cell phones of course. I know this is becasue she sees us on our phones and on the computer a lot in this day in age.

Animals.  She loves to "love" on the puppies and the cat.  Most of the time they will endure a short period of her tight grasp but each day she is learing to be more gentle.  Like tonight. As Jersey, Her and I sat in the chair just before bed she placed her hand lovingly on Jersey, she rubbed gently on her back and then just left her hand there still instead of taking a handful of hair. It was sweet.

Cupcakes

Of course these are only four things. She is so happy ALL the time that there are many other things that she likes and that make her laugh and squeal. She's getting big WAY to fast for me.

14 Months Old

Fourteen Months Old...

...AND FULL OF ENERGY

She has learned how to drink from a straw. She has actually realized that she can get something from the cup. This is exciting just to see her do this. It makes me smile to know that her palate surgery is in the past.

I love her little lips =)

of course a few cookies

I had to put this one because Jersey wanted to be in the picture and jumped right as we took it.

Oreos and spaghetti

at the same time seemed like a good idea at the time. Then when she got her second sink bath of the evening it was determined to be a bad idea... not really, she enjoyed it and later got her real bath before bed time.

Baby's Got Her Boots On

Oh.. Not only does she love dirt and water, she also LOVES sticks.

These are a pair of John Deere boots that Heather got her for her birthday.  They are SO cute.

Yes I know her diaper is full, but why waste a good mood on a diaper change =)  (We did change it right after these pictures. )

Dirt and Water

She LOVES dirt. Plays in it every chance she gets which is almost every day.  If it's not the yard it's the flower bed. My poor bath tub.

haha.. I had to chase her down just to see if I saw another tooth.  I DID!  She now has 7 teeth. She loves to run from me especially out in the yard because she thinks she's getting away. Cracks me up.

She was too dirty for even the bath tub.  She got a hose bath first.

It was cold... I LOVE the expression on her face.

Even after this she still had to have a real bath. =)

Cooking with Granny

Emilee was helping Granny cook biscuits. She thought that she was suppose to eat them so I think she took a little bite out of each one. She also got a couple of bigger bites. It was quite funny. It looked like a little mouse had eaten off of them.

Eating the final product. =)

Big Girl PJ's

I have lots of blogging to do.  Maybe I'll get to it this afternoon during nap time. But for now here is Emilee in her big girl PJ's. She always slept in footed sleepers, but these fit now so why not. =)

Back to Texas

The plane ride back was about the same.  The plane was completely full.  Not an empty seat anywhere.

I tried to get a picture, but she wasn't really having it.

She was so happy to be off the plane. She was so excited to see Aunt Barbara and Granny.  Of course we stopped at Sonic because I needed a Dr. Pepper!

Lani and Heather's

Early Monday morning we said goodbye to Darrell, Beth and Hayden (hopefully leaving them with baby fever) and headed to Elk Grove to see Lani and Heather. Heather is moving to Spain in a few weeks so this was a quick visit to make sure we got to see her before she left. Emilee did really well on the trip over... she didn't fuss at all and slept most of the way, which I was glad.

Emilee's birthday present from Heather. She got her a pair of cute shoes and cute John Deere boots (which Emilee modeled for us)

Emilee got to play in the water, which she loves to do ALL the time. Lani called it 'suburb swimming'. She kept putting her hands and hair in the water and then would pick her foot up like she wanted to climb in but didn't know how.  It was super funny.

With a little help she made it.

When she finally got all the way in she pushed most of the water out so Lani got the hose out to replinish the tub and she enjoyed playing with the hose.

Chrissy also came over for dinner and Lani cooked her famous Taco's. YUMMY!!

Good Luck to Heather and Steve as the head off on their adventure in Spain.  We'll miss y'all and we love y'all lots! Please blog for us!

Hanging out in Alameda

Sunday we spent the day with Darrell, Beth and Hayden. Hayden had lots of toys for them to play with.

Emilee also loved playing with Toby and Mya.  Altough we still haven't mastered the whole "being easy" with the animals.

She also LOVED their stairs that had a spiral to them and she loved them even more because there was no baby gate at the bottom.

While Hayden was taking a nap we went to the Base and then to the water near their house.  That's San Francisco in the background.

After Hayden got up from his nap we walked over by where we had dinner the night before to feed the ducks.  When we pulled all the bread out and started throwing it in the water, Emilee decided that she wanted to eat it. It was funny and she didn't really understand the whole "feeding" the ducks part.

This guy got a little too close for comfort.

We ended up staying at Darrell and Beth's for dinner and for the night. After dinner and a little walk we headed out for some ice cream.

She tried with the spoon...

and decided against it. =)

Then tried mine.

Hayden on the other hand is an ice cream pro!

Darrell was the picture taker for the ducks, so we had to get one with him.

... and we couldn't leave without a picture of the monkey face that Hayden loves to do.
