Sunny Afternoon

Surside Day Two

It was still overcast on Sunday, but the wind was crazy, but we did go to the beach one more time before we had to pack up and head home.

Since she didn't care for the waves, her Daddy dug her her own little pool so she could have some water to play in.

Once we got home the kiddos hadn't had enough water so they headed for the pool. Emilee wasn't too sure about it at first but soon got over that.

She even pulled her own suitcase home.

Then back to our routine of going down to see the chickens

Surfside Beach

We went on our first camping trip of the year to Surfside. Although it was windy and overcast we had a good time. There was also a lot of seaweed, but it should go away further into the summer. Emilee wasn't too sure about the waves. She would say 'water', so I would ask her if she wanted to go out in the water and she would quickly respond 'no' and start backing up. But of course she had lots of fun digging in the sand.

We were playing next to a spot that the waves would come up into a kind of channel, so she would play in that water.

The big kids were playing with boats...  she wanted to play but would quite go into the water where they were

Granny tried to coax her out into the water, but she was one baby on a mission to come back to the sand. I love the stance and determination of her posture.

I did take her out into the waves and sat down to see what she would do. She would smile on second and then whine the next and point back to the beach, so we didn't stay out there long. Maybe by the end of the summer she'll like the waves... we'll see.

Since she wasn't having anything to do with the waves we played in the sand. As fast as I could make a sand castle mold, she would either step on it, push it over or even sit on it.

Playing at the beach makes her thirsty.

Feed Store

It's amazing what she remembers. She has been to this feed store only one other time and that was the Saturday before Easter when her and her Daddy bought the chickens (Mommy was out of the state), but as soon as we pulled into the parking lot she started making her chirping sound for the chickens. She knew. It's amazing. She also knows when we drive past the building where I work... it can be silent in the car and she says 'Mama' and is pointing out the window at my office.

While buying chicken supplies at the feed store of course they had lots of baby chicks out. Emilee was looking at them and the 'store dog' came up and looked also. It was so cute. The picture is kinda blurry but it was still cute.

Lemon

Eating a lemon at Olive Garden. Even though she made this face, she kept on eating them.

New home

Well... the new chicken pen is finished and they are safely in their new home. Of course they aren't too sure about be chased and herded around the pen by Emilee while she gets mad because she can't catch them everytime. But every once in a while she gets her little hands on them. She is still learning how to be gentle with them. She likes to hug and kiss them anytime one is caught.

Letting them go into their bigger and better pen. Of course Emilee loves to help with the food and water.

Of course she had to give this one sugars since I had to catch it to get it out of the small cage

She would finally catch one (this one's name is Brenda) and would hold it for a while. We would have to make her give it sugars and then put it down, only to be caught again.

22 Months

I can't believe she is two months shy of two years old. BUT... she is well on her way to acting like she's been two for months now. =)
