Long and heartbreaking... that pretty much sums our day and night up. Emilee was still so incredibly swollen and not wanting to eat at all.... this lasted all day long. Our nurse (who we loved) suggested an IV medication to reduce the swelling. Apparently the doctor didn't think that it was a good idea because we never heard a yes. So we forced 5 cc's down her at a time and only a few times during the day. Not nearly enough to be close to going home. So we went through the day... starting about 7:30 in the evening her breathing was even harder for her than at first. This I did not like. So we tried a few things to try and help her, but none would work... so once she got to sleep and she began not breathing well we called for the nurse to listen. She listened to her lungs and they were nice and clear, but she agreed with us and called the doctor at about 11:00pm and we got the first dose at about midnight. The night was long as well. She just remained extremely uncomfortable and unsatisfied. We think that she was just so hungry and couldn't eat that it was keeping her uneasy. We made it through though.
